नेहमीप्रमाणे तो पुन्हा तसाच पुटपुटला ” तुम्ही केललं वाईट कर्म तुमच्यापाशी राहिल. आणि तुम्ही केलेलं चांगलं कर्म तुमच्याकडे परत येईल. “

तिचा मुलगा बाहेरगावी होता . ती त्याच्यासाठी रोज देवाकडे प्रार्थना करायची . खूप दिवसापासून त्याची खबर नव्हती . एक दिवस तो अचानक आला.दारात मुलाला बघून तिला आश्चर्य वाटलं .कपडे फाटलेली होती . त्याला भूक लागली होती . आईला बघताच मुलगा म्हणाला ” आई , मी इथं पोहोचलो एका साधु महाराज मुळे, मी चक्कर येऊन पडलो होतो .कित्येक दिवस पोटात अन्न नव्हते . माझा जीवच गेला असता; पण तेथे बाबा आले , मी त्यांना खाण्यासाठी मागितले . त्यांनी मला एक चपाती खायला दिली . तो म्हणाला रोज मी हेच खातो , आज तुला देतो. कारण याची गरज माझ्यापेक्षा तुला आहे.
हे ऐकताच आईचा चेहरा रडवेला झाला . तिला सकाळची विष कालवलेली चपाती आठवली. ती चपाती तिने चुलीत टाकली नसती तर तिच्या मुलाने ती खाल्ली असती आणि त्याचा जीव गेला असता.
